Where does it really work? Part 1 - Verisign code signing cert

Ever wondered what are the real devices where some code signing certificates really work?
Here is a partial but verified answer.

I successfully used Verisign Class 3 code signing certificate (2004) on the following devices.

Nokia 6630 (firmware update may be needed)
Nokia 6680 (firmware update may be needed)

Nokia 6290
Nokia 6120 classic
Nokia N70
Nokia N73
Nokia N76
Nokia N81
Nokia N95

Nokia E65

Nokia 6151
Nokia 6125
Nokia 6103
Nokia 6233
Nokia 6234
Nokia 6300
Nokia 5300

SonyEricsson K810
Sony Ericsson W910
Sony Ericsson Z610

Samsung U700

I know of other compatible devices (SEM W810 for instance) but I haven't tested them myself, so I don't list them here.

I also know that most Motorola and Blackberry devices are NOT supported (manufacturer or Java Verified signing is required), but I've only tested Blackberry 8100 Pearl (which doesn't accept Verisign cert).

Hope this helps.

Hi Andrea,

thank you for this useful report! Just a note: sometimes certificate availability depends on firmware variant for each country and operator. For instance, I've been working on two Sony-Ericsson K800, one branded and one not, with same firmware version (that is: same "bug&fix" status) but different certificate package. In other words, the two devices were absolutely identical, but the branded one was unable to run the Verisign-signed application. Unbelievable!

Ciao :-)

Eh eh, Stefano's right as usual.

All the consideration are to be considered for unbranded or TIM branded devices, with the exception of 6233 and 6234.
